John Combs from Illinois and a Local 196 Journeyman Lineman has tragically passed away. Montgomery police have opened up a death investigation following the death of John. Officers and fire medics responded to the railroad lines between US Foods and the Stock Yard on Friday, October 4, at around 6:32 p.m., after receiving a report that a person had been struck by a train.
The incident occurred between that location and the Stock Yard. John Combs, who was 24 years old, was discovered with injuries that determined his death, and he was pronounced dead at the site. Combs was a lineman who was assisting with storm restoration, according to IBEW Local 196 in Huntley, Illinois, which confirmed this information earlier this week. This past Friday was the last time anyone saw him, and he was on his way back to Illinois.
