Naomi Williams Cyclist Death Tasmania:- Australian track, road, mountain bike and cyclocross rider has tragically passed away. The victim has been identified as Naomi Williams affectionately known to many as ‘Ren’ and ‘Rennski’. She was 44 years old.

According to reports, Naomi Williams of Tasmania died by suicide this past week. She was a junior cyclist who burst onto the scene brimming with energy, creativity, kindness, intellect and generosity. Thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.

About Naomi Williams

Naomi, born on January 13, 1980, was the first Tasmanian woman to represent Australia at a World Championships, demonstrating her talent and dedication.

In 2002, she received an Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Scholarship to ride with the women’s national road team in Europe and the US. She used this opportunity to race at an elite level and obtain international riding experience.

Naomi dominated Australian cyclocross (CX) by 2016. Her impeccable bike handling and meticulous bike maintenance set her apart from her opponents. She was recognised in the cycling community because her talent and determination kept her at her best. Naomi has inspired many aspiring bikers, especially women, and her legacy lives on.

Obituary and funeral arrangements for Naomi Williams

Family and friends of Naomi are warmly invited to attend a service to celebrate her life, to be held on Monday 14th October 2024 at the Boathouse Centre, 55a Lindsay St, Invermay, commencing at 2.30pm.
