Owner of Madison Avenue Salon Mark Palumbo Jr of Madison, Connecticut has died after accident in Westbrook accident. He passed away on Wednesday 10th October 2024. According to Connecticut State Police, Mark A. Palumbo Jr., 47, was killed when his car was struck head-on by a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction. The incident occurred around 8:05 p.m. near Exit 65.
Palumbo, who was driving his 2014 Ford Mustang GT southbound in the correct direction, was pronounced dead at the scene. The wrong-way driver, identified as a 57-year-old man from Groton, was driving a 2017 Cadillac ATS when he collided with Palumbo’s vehicle. The wrong-way driver sustained what state police described as “suspected minor injuries” and was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital by Westbrook medics.
It is not yet known whether the driver will face charges related to the fatal crash. Authorities responded to the scene after receiving reports of a collision in the southbound lanes. The investigation into how and why the wrong-way driver entered the highway is ongoing, with state police continuing to piece together the events leading up to the crash.
