Makhai Ramon Martin Death – A 19-year-old male has been identified as the victim of a double shooting that occurred in Lutcher, according to the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office. It was approximately 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, when the incident took place in the 2100 block of Highway 44.
A man was reportedly shot and was being transported to the hospital, according to a caller who made the claim. According to the officials, a second victim was reported in the same region shortly after the first one. Makhai Ramon Martin, who was 19 years old at the time, was discovered by deputies suffering from multiple gunshot wounds from various shots.
After some time, he passed away in a medical facility. An additional victim, also a 19-year-old resident of the Lutcher area, sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. A silver Nissan Altima, which was suspected of being involved in the incident, was discovered abandoned on the shoulder of the Westbank side of the Veterans Memorial Bridge, and it had been damaged by gunfire.
