Amanda Overstreet Grand Junction CO Death:- Human remains found in a freezer at a recently sold home in Mesa County earlier this year have been identified. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the remains, specifically a head and hands, belonged to Amanda Leariel Overstreet, who was 16 years old when she went missing.
The chilling discovery occurred on January 12, 2024, when an individual visiting the home on Pinyon Avenue came to retrieve the freezer from its new owner, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
“Overstreet has not been seen or heard from since April 2005. Amanda Overstreet was the biological daughter of the previous homeowner,” the sheriff’s office stated in a news release.
In January, investigators indicated that the incident appeared to be isolated; however, they mentioned on Friday that the “circumstances surrounding her disappearance are still under investigation.”
It seems Overstreet had not been reported missing, or at least there was “no record” of such a report, according to the sheriff’s office. Authorities are urging anyone with further information to reach out to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office at 970-244-3266.
